When he first stepped into his role, the first thing that Jason did was incorporate the word “family” into the company name. “We are truly a family company. My mother still works for the company, as do my brother and wife. We have many employees who have been with us for decades and all of our employees are treated as family.” Best of all, when you buy a home with us, you become a lasting part of this Schaeffer family.

Before purchasing the family business from his mother and father in 2006, Jason worked in construction as a service and warranty manager, a sales manager, and eventually an operations manager for many years, in which he oversaw about 1,000 homes being built. Everything he’s learned about the industry through his past experiences have helped to shape his role today, and we’re grateful for the chance to learn from him every day!

Since the very beginning, Jason has put a significant emphasis on exceptional customer service. The happiness of his homeowners is his number one priority, which all starts with a rewarding building experience. Having grown up in Berlin Borough, Jason has always been close to where our headquarters and design center are today. After spending time traveling and working after college, Jason settled into the new home industry and has been here ever since. Jason married his high school sweetheart, moved to beautiful Haddonfield, and lives there now with his wife and three sons.

It’s no surprise that Jason’s love of family and community doesn’t stop when he’s not in the office. In fact, his favorite thing to do in his free time is to enjoy moments with his family, whether that’s going on trips, relaxing at home, or attending his children’s sporting or music events. He also pursues aviation — did you know that Jason is a private pilot? If he weren’t the owner of Schaeffer Family Homes, he’d be flying planes!

With an unmatched eye for aesthetics, design, and function (fun fact: Jason was given a scholarship to attend the Accademia di Bella Arti in Florence and was a professional sculptor after college), and an immense amount of love and care for his work and his homeowners, Jason is the co-pilot you want on your homebuilding journey.
